With over 38 years experience in the structural pest control field, we are usually able to identify most pests. Clients should “carefully” pack specimens in a small container or envelope. The better shape the specimen is in, the easier it will be to make the proper identification. To best control the pests, it is important to know what your dealing with and its habits. This will help your technician select the proper materials for application. If we become “stumped” your
specimen(s) will be delivered to professional Taxonomists at the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture in Harrisburg.
Destructive Pests
Every year in the U.S., twice as many homes suffer serious damage from termites and other wood destroying insects than by fire, storms and earthquakes combined. In Central Pennsylvania, the most common types of wood destroying insects are Subterranean Termites, Old House Borers, Powder Beetles, Carpenter Ants, Bed Bugs, Carpenter Bees, and Gypsy Moths.
Although there are specific signs of infestation, these destructive creatures are not always easy to spot. Mud tubes, deteriorated wood and small sawdust piles are obvious indicators, but it takes a trained professional to read the signs before it’s too late and thes pests have done their damage.

Tree Defoliators
Many people are unaware that we also provide our services for the control of Foliage eating insects. There are several leaf eating insects that occur at different times of the year in Pennsylvania. We can make treatment to trees of 30 feet or less in height. Forested areas or tree's higher than 30 feet, usually require aerial applications. Some of the more common tree defoliators are Eastern Tent Caterpillers, Forest Tent Caterpillers, Gypsy Moths and Bag Worms.
